A bit about the artist…

My name is Jessica Laycock, I’m 26 years old originally from Derbyshire, UK.

I use my page to share my artwork and anything new I create. I originally started as a pet portrait artist, creating a facebook page during Covid lockdown as I love to paint animals.

I have always been artistic from a young age and love to create. I previously studied fine art at school but went on to have a career as a pharmacist. During this time I have always carried on my art passion in the background, painting artwork for friends and family.

I now continue to paint pet portraits as well as more recently animal art and anything new that interests me. I produce my own artwork but would also like to create commissions for others. This may range from pet portraits, to wedding portraits, animal artwork or your favourite pop culture reference. I love to try new techniques and will continue to push myself to improve whenever I can.

3 facts about me:

• I have a lovely cat named Ruby, who always ends up being the guinea pig for my new ideas, and is the perfect model for photos.

• I mainly paint using acrylics as I find them easiest to work with.

• I recently welcomed my gorgeous baby girl into the world in October 2024 who makes me smile everyday.
